Appraisal is a process in which there is a disagreement of cost between the insurance carrier and the homeowner/contractor. For example, a roof is only approved for a certain amount from a previous storm and the contractor has a different amount in which they will do the work for. The homeowner has the right to an appraisal to in which each party hires their own appraiser to handle the differences. The claim is essentially starting from scratch and each party comes to an agreement on an umpire prior to scheduling a site visit. If the appraisers disagree on a result, it moves on to the umpire named in which they make the final decision.

The storming industry has changed drastically over the years and there are some things that haven't changed. The door knocking will not stop when a hail or wind storm occurs. The issue isn't the door knocking, but rather who is inspecting your property and what they actually know. Companies will hire people to come in and do sales for them, but a lot of them are not even trained that well so you end up getting a considerable amount of individuals providing misinformation to potential customers. This causes a rift between the insurance carriers, potential clients and the industry as a whole. Here at UWR, it is the goal to give a far an honest assessment with providing the homeowner or insurance carrier with a HAAG inspection and report. Homeowners can call UWR and hire for an inspection with a report to either file a claim for storm damage or to have a piece of mind. UWR is NOT the contractor by any means and will not perform any work on the property other than inspecting. Insurance carriers are also welcomed to hire UWR to inspect properties for underwriting purposes as well as HAAG storm damage assessments. UWR serves both parties and believes in unity, not division. A country divided is no longer a country, but just an empty shell of what once was.
